The Universal Testing Machine (UTM) is a precision laboratory testing system designed for determining the mechanical strength and deformation characteristics of materials under controlled tensile, compression and other loading conditions. The machine is suitable for testing metals, plastics, rubber, composites, wires, cables, textiles and other engineering materials, depending on the selected fixtures and test configuration.
The UTM applies a controlled load to the test specimen while continuously measuring load, displacement and deformation. It can be used to determine important mechanical properties such as tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, compressive strength, breaking load and other material characteristics.
The UTM is widely used in material testing laboratories, R&D centres, educational institutions, manufacturing industries and quality-control laboratories for evaluating the mechanical properties of engineering materials and finished products.
The machine can be configured with suitable grips, fixtures, load capacities and software to perform tests in accordance with applicable ASTM, ISO, IS and other international testing standards.
