Product Overview

The Cold Impact Tester is designed for determining the resistance of thermoplastic and elastomeric insulation or sheath of electrical cables to impact or shock at low temperatures. The test is specified in IS 10810 (Part 21):1984 – Methods of Test for Cables, Part 21: Cold Impact Test.

The test is particularly applicable where cable insulation or sheath may become hardened and brittle under low-temperature or frost conditions. IS 10810 Part 21 provides a cold-impact method as an alternative to the cold-bend test, particularly for larger-diameter specimens.
