Cord Guard Flexing Test Apparatus

The Cord Guard Flexing Test is designed to assess the durability and mechanical strength of cord guards used in electrical appliances. This test ensures compliance with IS: 302, IS: 366, IS: 1293, IEC 60884, and other international safety standards.

The test is conducted on cord guards that do not meet dimensional requirements, evaluating their resistance to repeated flexing.

Test Procedure:

1. The cord guard is mounted in the appliance with a 60 cm to 100 cm length of cord.
2. With the appliance held stationary, the cord is flexed back and forth:
3. At an angle of approximately 90° and 180°.
4. Pre-set cycles of flexing are performed.
5. At the end of the test, the cord and guard must show no unusual signs of abrasion or wear.
