As per  IS: 4283:1981

ENDURANCE TEST FOR HOT AIR FAN apparatus is designed as per the standard IS: 4283:1981, clause no. 8.14.13.1. Thermostat is loaded with its rated current at its rated voltage and is made to operate 10,000 times (making & breaking) at a rate in accordance with the normal switching frequency inherent to the fan.
